My current lifelong bit is adding -ISH to anything I can. For example, my “comedy-ISH” because it does not quite follow the exact lines (literally, literalLEIGH) of comedy, though still contains an essence of the concept of comedy. I recently had a new friend ask me what -ISH stands for. My initial thought was “Intuitive Schema Happening” because the idea of adding -ISH means that you’re essentially adjusting your schema of a particular topic in real time, hence the present tense of “happening.” It’s meant to adapt to the original meaning of a concept to contain more nuance and flexibility. Though the perfectionist-ISH part of me wants to workshop that acronym, for now it ISH what it ISH.
